It is friday, and as with all fridays I'm ready to go home and nap.





This one is looking a little weird atm because the main character is the only thing that's flat XD

Yay I finally was able to do a load of laundry (stupid bank changed its office hours on me).

What this has to do with drawing I'm not sure but oh wells. Sometimes inspiration is a real curse, it keeps me up way past bed time ;_;

Wheeee colors! I'm really naughty because I never thumbnailed this page. It waasn't a decision, I just didn't. But I've been thinking about it forever so maybe I didn't need to? IDK



Flatting this today!

Baaaah I sat down to paint and discovered I only had one red and it's not going to work for what I want. ahahah.

I decided to try out some watercolors instead and so far that's going ok, but I have to wait for the wash to dry. Poot. (went and painted some more in between starting to write this and now, am excite)

Finally finished this! One more to go and I can look into taking commissions. cool.



Trying to keep track, this is about an hour of painting.

Ughhhh I'm going to have to give up and accept at some point that the whole reason for a buffer is weeks like this. I'm so tired ;_;

Also now that I'm using it for several hours every day, it's become somewhat clear to me that I need to order more pen nibs. Really I should just order a new pen, too, because mine has some hillarious house-fire related droop, but they're like $75 and it works so...

I guess while I pay my bills tonight Imma orderin pen nibs. Spent most of yesterday doing linework for various things, and took the easier two of the three breakaway pages I did to color. One close to done, the other no where near. lol

I made a character change on the Alt-z page because I'm petty and the original guy is being a shithead (when three people are telling you to shut up on vent during a critical moment and you don't, and then throw a fit over it, you're a shithead).

Didn't feel like playing last night (omg I'm broken), so I did this instead.

I'm in negotiations for a colorist job. I am excited.

I'm a little bit surprised, because I thought I was doomed. Apparently I'm getting good enough at this that not only did I get two pages close to done last night, but I was working on them simultaneously. Cool. Maybe another hour of work on each tonight and they'll be done.

They are a bit weird tho.




Also got about 2/3 of the way through finalizing the wee drawings in this week's Alt-z. I think I can finish the rest today and get the flats in tonight.



And I think I like these drawings so I started in on getting the lines finalized. For about ten minutes. Then I took a glorious nap.

Ughughugh universe, it's monday and I was up too late last night. It's freaking freezing outside and my feet are cold and there's supposed to be another snowstorm tomorrow and it's really tempting to just call in dead.

Didn't like how the drawing of three was going so I tried again, this time with the idea of being at the beach. Drew up three separate ones and spliced them together, which seems to work oh so well (this would be too wide for one piece of paper anyway). I'm pretty damn happy. Whee.



Finished up Emily and Wildwing, with a cheap way to get out of drawing feet. FU FEET. Probably going to be looking into turning this into a background for a webpage for Breakaway. cool.




Looking at trying a different format for Alt-Z this week, smaller but with more panels. Also dargons.

It's 11am on a Friiiday and I'm ready to go home and sleep.

Late post today because I spent most of it busy at work getting my hands torn up again. Not nearly as bad as the last time, but I guess my dream of being a hand model (yes, that is a real profession) won't happen this week either.

I did a bunch of sketching yesterday and then spent all night with *indecision* because I could decide what to work on.

Cleanup of Alt-Z, which I clearly have to finish tonight after raid



Filed away a pile of sketches that weren't ever going to go anywhere, and came across this one. It became apparent very fast why I never completed it, but I think some good can come of it.



Really fast hard lines on the Emily sketch, which should be all I need to color it how I want.



And that page of Breakaway finished just a link tho since it is a bit gross.

As I suspected, more color makes things take longer (shock). Also sort of worried this is getting too busy but ohwell I guess it's a learning process. Should be easy to finish off tonight.



Also was completly unexpectedly able to do all of my Alt-z page last night, so I think I am getting faster at such things (also I didn't have 9 characters to color arg). It's cute. Here's the version that hasn't been edited down to panels yet.



And because I was like whoaaa productive yesterday I started in on the last of two things I owe people. I figured out the problem was I was getting to cramped on one piece of paper so I drew two on one, and one on the other, and decided to try splicing them together. Seems to work pretty well. Maybe I can make some good progress on it over the weekend.

Hmm. Not a whole lot to say today. I suppose that's not quite true. I always have a lot to say, I just learned some time ago that I'm the only one who cares to hear it :3

In any case, finished a page last night. This version is mossstly right but I did a few corrections after this was lettered.



And got another started. The unnecessary swoopy lines were a thing I did because I thought it looked cool two weeks ago, and now they will never, ever go away.



Think I have an idea for Alt-z. The guild's other feral druid claims that there's a comic contest again? Idk I'd never heard of it.

I'm somewhat suspicious about how fast this is going. Maybe because the background is mostly one tone? Maybe it's a trick I'll have to keep >>

Foooound it

I sort of hit a wall on this last night but it's still on the cusp of being done. Maybe tonight? I'm just really terrible at backgrounds and on top of it this is lighting I'm not really familiar with so I'm spending a lot of time staring at it like o.o

This one's turning out a bit weird, and I'm somewhere perplexed that it's only Tuesday yet it's nearly finished. I think the big thing is clarifying what the background is supposed to be (what can I say, I'm bad at them), and finishing up the characters.



I was at a loss for what this week's Alt-z was going to be, and then Blizzard placed Chimaeron in my lap. Man, that fight was made for my guild.

Last night was such a terrible night for me in raiding omg.

I think when I got home tonight I'm going to pull up this PSD file and adjust the depth of some of this shading, right now I think the shadows are simply to light and the effect is blah. But it's ok enough now. lol



And then this has the worst dialog known to man so don't think too hard about it.



Oh and I did manage to finish my really weird page as well. T'is still a bit squicky so a link instead of a thumbnail.

I wonder how long I'm going to be able to keep this pace up. I feel like my hand is going to fall off. IT MIGHT OK.

Finished off this very very overdue piece of art and was pleasantly surprised by a hugehuge thank you note in the DA inbox for it. Well cool, I'm glad she likes it (I'm rather fond it of myself).



I'm also somewhat surprised that this Alt-Z page is nearly done. These things are simple enough that I can probably finish it between pulls in tonight's raid, and afterward turn back to finishing a Breakaway page (like I said, that weird one has like, a corner and bits of the lower panel to finish off and it's pretty much done).



I have two more pieces of 'owed' stuff to take care of, and after that I think I'll look into doing commissions. I don't know pricing yet. I can do a lot of this stuff a lot faster and better than the last time I did them. I think that duck up there took maybe 4-5 hours in total, with the simple background. I'm really fond of $15 an hour tho. *omnom greedy*

Day9 broke his water glass at the end of his tournament cast last night, after he'd just explained a few days ago that his roommates were getting angry at him for all the broken glasswear. The forlorned look he gave the camera perfectly explained how I felt all day yesterday - what a crummy day.

ANYWAY, as per usual I wanted to do more last night but was roped into tanking heroic achievements by my guild leader (are you seeing a pattern here?).

I freaking BROKE my mechanical pencil. I don't know how. It's sort of ok now, but RAR.

Thank you to those of you who dropped by the Ustream last night while I worked on this. It's neeeearly finished but not quite, probably another hour of tweaking things. Instead of acknowledging that the perspective in the background makes no sense, I'm going to point out how pretty the color blue is.

Whelp, my steam last night had all of 1.5 people drop by but hopefully I can account for that by pointing out that I started at 11pm last night (I HAD A RAID, OK?)

Tonight I'll try to start earlier. In the mean time, this thing is nearly done, just need to tweek the lower panel and finish up the background in the upper right corner.

Arrrrrg I got so sick of this one at the end but it's done. The lettered version is ready to go (trying to stick to a one page post on Friday schedule, but aim for two pages done so I can build a big buffer).

I think I'm going to try to do livestreaming, now that I have a computer that can do such things without batting an eye. Will probably be in the evenings.
